The 2020 Children's and Young Adult Local Author Fair will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020 from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Hamilton East Public Library in Fishers. If you are interested in attending, please fill out the following application and send back by Friday, November 29, 2019.
We have limited space for this event and filling out this application does not guarantee you a table.
- Priority will be given to authors from Hamilton and surrounding counties.
- Additional criteria such as publication quality, local interest, and genre will also be considered. We have a separate event for adult books the first Saturday in November of every year. Please note, beginning with November 2020, the fall event will only be for adult book authors; April for children and young adult book authors.
- All decisions of the selection committee are final.
- This year's event will be held in the atrium of the library. Authors ARE allowed to participate in both the April and November events ONLY IF they have books in the appropriate genres.
Library Guidelines for participation:
1) You must be able to attend the entire event.
2) The library will provide a 3x3 table and two chairs. Authors are responsible for decorating and staffing their table. The library is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
3) Sales vary widely each year, with number of books sold typically ranging from 0 to 15. All sales must be handled by the author. Authors will be asked to promote widely on their social media channels and through email communications. A media kit will be provided by the library for this purpose.
4) The library requires authors to have print copies of their books for sale and display. The book release date must be prior to 3/1/2020.
The mission of the HEPL Local Author Fair is to provide an outlet for local authors to promote and grow their presence in the community and for residents to gain access to local authors. It is recommended that you provide information at your tables and be prepared to engage with the public.
